I'm just going out for a while...

...to a circus party in Christchurch and the Growing Green Conference in Auckland.

I may be some time...

What, no internet in the big smokes?!

Will we get a report on the circus party? And the conference too I guess, but the party sounds like fun.

Assuming you do return ;-)

I'm not certain they do have internet in Auckland, wildcrafty, after Rodney Hide munted the place. Christchurch too sounds as though it's been "gerried" so I may have to net a pigeon. If I do stumble across and interweb booth, I'll tap something out and yes, it'll be fun alright!

may we expect a pas de deux in Auck?

and while partaking of the pleasures of flesh in the Capitol of Mammon perhaps you could stay sober reading the following ...

I felt like a Robert Guyton wannabe while writing this, photos of letterboxes and the like while delivering Green party pamphlets in South Invercargill

Hi Robert, i am quite disappointed i missed the fact that Steffan Browning was touring with two Aussie farmers who were talking on GE. One of the Aussies is Julie Norman from the Australian Network of Concerned Farmers. They have a website.
www.non-gm-farmers.com/about.asp
At one time I looked at it regularly. It is not updated so regularly these days but still has has some interesting info.
As i said I'm sorry i didn't realise the tour was on. I notice it didn't come any further south than Dunedin. Still would have would have gone if i could have worked it.
Hope your time away is proving worthwhile and that, unlike Captain Oates, you will be back!

Hi FBB - I've dragged myself in from the cold (Auckland - not tropical!) and did have a worthwhile time away - even spent some time talking with Nick Smith, of all people, about setting up strawmen, something he was accused of doing (and did do, repeatedly, during the politicians' debate at the conference). I'm not sure he took up my suggestions, mostly around talking with Russel Norman, not to or at him. Nick was very relaxed, I have to say. Time out of the caucus has done him good. Steffan's doing a good job with his promotion of issues like GE and the Food Bill. I was surprised by him when he came down here to talk with Rivertonians about food - he was very and well informed.
